MAUI, Hawaii - You'll always come back to this island!

Maui is the love of my life!
I don't even know where to start... Maui is the best place I've seen yet!
This is why I love Maui:

About Maui
It's true that Maui is more of an expensive Island, but if you're clever you can have a blast without spending too much! This island offers so many FREE outdoor activities.
There're just a few things you should better spend money on to be able to enjoy Maui to the fullest.

1) Rent a car! (Check out www.travelpirates.com for discounts)
Driving around the island is amazing, we had so much fun driving from waterfall to waterfall, the famous road to Hana or drive to organic farms (cause there where just a few "grocery stores") to buy some food.

2) NEVER EVER stay in Hotels on Maui, not because Hotels on Maui are bad or anything (cause I don't know) but Hotels are too expensive! You'll spend soo much money on the place you're just gonna sleep at.
So instead of staying in Hotels check out vacation rentals!!! It'll be sooooo much cheaper and soo much easier and better cause you'll have a kitchen where you can cook your meals. If you stay in a Hotel you'll have to pay everytime you go out to eat, but here you got you're own kitchen and you can cook most of the time to save money. Local food is not really tasty anyways but I'll talk about that later!

ALWAYS ASK FOR DISCOUNT BEFORE BOOKING!!! we've got almost 200$ discount, just because we asked for discount in a short Email.

Places:
You'll find everything on Maui:

Amazing beaches

Secret waterfalls

Maui's jungle

The best way to experience Maui is to find local people to show you guys around... the best places on Maui are the ones that tourists don't know! Some people have signs that say "tourists not allowed", whenever you see that sign GO FOR IT! ;)
To find local people to show you around the island just search for Maui on www.couchsurfing.org and then write a short "hey, anyone who wants to hangout and show me the island"-blabla on the wall and you'll get a lot nice answers! He/she's gonna be you're free Tourguide!!!

You'll have a blast without spending any money...

here are a few FREE things you should definitely do on the island:

1) Do the road to Hana
The road to Hana is one of the most touristy things to do on Maui, I actually hate doing touristy stuff but the road to Hana is pretty fun... it has all the amazing waterfalls with the pools that you can swim in.
There are a few bigger waterfalls and some really famous ones like the "Twinfalls" but you have to wait like 2h to get in and you have to pay for it. I would never pay for a waterfall in Maui cause there are soooo many and each of them is amazing, so just drive to the next waterfall... it won't be that crowded and it's free PLUS if you see local people, go where they are.

2) Go Cliff-jumping
Cliff-jumping was one of the best things I did on Maui and I did it everywhere!!!
Maui has the best spots for Cliff-jumping one of the most popular ones is at Cliff's house, you'll meet all the local teens there. It's a beautiful place with breathtaking clear water and once you jump in you'll be swimming with turtles right next to you. Please do it for me!! JUMP! ;)

Another place you can go cliff-jumping is a bit more risky... tourists are not allowed here but it's sooo worth going there!!!
It's at the red sand cliffs

This is how you'll have to do it:

you'll have to get down the cliff holding the rope.
It's not as bad as it seems... I'm a looser and I did it ;)

Walk around this monster (that's pretty fun)

Again... not as bad as it seems!

This is where you get, if you do it right :)

Maui has a lot stuff to do (Shark-diving, skydiving, diving, snorkeling, go see the volcanos, etc)

People:
The reason why Maui is so special is because of it's people!!! Maui has so many different people, you'll find what you are looking for on this island! Are you looking for those sexy Surfers boys or girls? Maui has the sexiest surfer I've ever seen!!! Go to the north shore especially when it's winter.
Are you looking for that authentic hippie culture? you'll see them everywhere... local people love to hitchhike here! you'll see them in organic farms or visit PAIA, one of the popular hippie parts of Maui.
People on Maui always smile, they're always happy and love to live life to the fullest! They enjoy living on one of the prettiest Islands in the world, and they show it!
Maui has a few homeless people but they also seem to enjoy life! they just eat what the island offers and it's a lot... you'll see them sitting under trees and reading books... SO PEACEFUL

Food:
This is sooo crazy about hawaii!!!
We just woke up every morning and ate what the beautiful island offered, we had coconuts, pineapples, bananas and stuff we've never seen before for breakfast! It was sooo healthy, so fresh and sooo delicious! AND FOR FREE ;)

The only "bad" thing about Maui or Hawaii is the local food... it's really not as good as you expect it to be.
It tastes like nothing! The salads are not bad but the plate lunchs are... anyways, that's why I said it's good to have a kitchen ;)

Eating out is pretty expensive aswell, we spend almost 20-25$ each, everytime we went out.
Well I'm a f*** student so that's expensiv to me!!! and espacially if you eat out everyday!!!

Check out www.skyscanner.com for cheap flights to the beautiful Island!

I'm sure you guys will have a blast!!!
